We’ve all heard that it’s important to eat fresh fruits and vegetables for our health, but having a diet heavy in fruits and veggies can also work wonders on your skin. Many fruits and vegetables are high in antioxidants, fiber, and vitamin C, which all are important for preventing skin damage, supporting the growth of healthy gut bacteria, and boosting collagen production.

A great and easy way to get lots of fruits and veggies into your diet is by throwing them all together into a salad! Lean proteins, vitamin E, and selenium are also great nutrients for skin health, so add additional nuts, fish, or chicken breast for added benefits (these ingredients will also help you feel full much longer). Try this easy and delicious salad recipe to help your skin glow from the inside out.


Serving size: 1

For the salad:
1 cup of spinach
¼ cup mixed berries (we like strawberries and blueberries the best)
1 tbs of sliced almonds
1/8 of a small onion
sliced Feta cheese
Grilled chicken breast or protein of choice

For the dressing:
1/8 cup balsamic vinegar
1/8 cup extra virgin olive oil
1/2 tsp honey
Pinch of garlic powder
Pinch of ground mustard
Salt and pepper to taste
1. In a medium-sized bowl, combine the spinach, berries, and onions. Add the sliced almonds, feta cheese, and your protein of choice on top.
2. In a small bowl, combine the dressing ingredients and mix well. Drizzle the dressing on top of the salad and enjoy!
